HVAC In Lantana. Storms Rarely Break It With Wind.

Repair, replacement and maintenance across Lantana and Hypoluxo Island. Most storm damage to air conditioning is not the storm itself — it is water in the condenser and the surge when the power comes back on.

The Free Advice Is On This PageMost of what protects a system through a storm costs nothing and takes two minutes. We would rather you did it than called us afterwards.
Inspected Before RestartedAfter flooding we check the unit before it runs, because the first restart is when a wet system destroys itself.
Documented For InsuranceIf there is storm damage you get findings written up properly, so a claim is not held up waiting for paperwork.

What Actually Damages The System

Advanced Cooling and Heating is a licensed Florida HVAC contractor (License #CAC057209), established in 1996 and based in West Palm Beach. People picture a condenser blown over. In practice the expensive failures come from two much quieter things.

Water where the electrics are. A condenser can stand in rain all day without harm. Standing flood water is different: it reaches the contactor, the capacitor and the wiring, and salt water is worse again. The unit may appear fine once the water drops, which is exactly why people switch it on and destroy it.

The surge when power returns. Restoration is rarely clean, and the spike as the grid comes back can take out a control board or a compressor that survived the storm untouched. Leaving the breaker off until supply is steady costs nothing and prevents most of it.

Before A StormSwitch the system off at the breaker
Clear Around ItLoose items become projectiles against the coil fins
Do Not Cover ItA wrapped unit traps moisture if it is left on
After FloodingLeave it off and have it inspected first

What We Do Here

Six Services, Lantana

Homes on the island and inland, plus commercial property along the corridor.

AC Repair

Including post-storm inspection before a system is restarted, which is the point at which avoidable damage happens.

Maintenance

Twice yearly, with the spring visit timed to catch problems before hurricane season rather than during it.

Replacement

Including systems written off by flooding, with the findings documented for your insurer.

Coil Cleaning

Storm debris packs the outdoor coil, and a blocked coil raises pressures and running costs immediately.

Humidity Control

After a house has been shut up or lost power for days, moisture is the problem left behind.

Ductwork

Wet insulation and displaced duct runs after a storm, checked properly rather than patched over.

System Stood In Flood Water?

Leave it switched off at the breaker and call. Running it to see whether it still works is the single most expensive thing you can do — a unit that would have been repairable often is not afterwards.
